The Stage II kit is the best kit for the "do it yourselfer" as it comes with templates for cutting your own air sealing tins to complete the installation into all VW Type I vehicles. The enthusiast needs some fabrication skills, and the following tools listed below for the cutting and trimming of tins, and the install.
The Stage II kit requires one 36"x36" sheet of Aluminum preferably of 1/16th inch thick. (.080") that can be purchased locally (not included).

| The Stage II kit comes with all the fasteners and templates needed for the Do it yourselfer to fabricate their own tin for installing the MassIVe DTM into a previously outfitted Type I Aircooled VW with a standard engine bay. You will need to source some .080 sheet aluminum and cut and trim the pieces to fit. NOTE: This is time consuming but easy when done in a clean and orderly fashion. | |
