A little background. I have a 914/4 and I wanted to assemble an engine with my son who is 14. I wanted something we could do together and I had no experience with engine building. So, I purchased 1 of Jake's 2270 kits. Jake tried to encourage me to have him assemble it but, I didn't want to miss the opportunity with my son. As it turned out my son did most of the wrenching and I did most of the deciding. At any rate we had a ball and it will be an experience that I will never forget.

Saturday night we invited all of the local 914 guys over for a start up party. The engine fired up and we worked out a couple of problems and now it purrs.

So, first, Thanks to Jake. Your support along the way was great. You gave us the info we needed but made us make decisions and figure things out first. I appreciate the prompt replies. I also appreciate that you never spoon fed us. We had to do the math as you say. Most importantly, thank you for you dedication to providing a great product and service. Most of the parts were entirely too pretty to put in a running engine.
