Welcome to the Type 4 Store!

These days some engine bearings are becoming very hard to find. I have devised networks that span the world to source these bearings that no one else has. In some instances, we actually have some bearings made from a special alloy that we have proven to exceed the material that VW used originally; this is the case with our special main thrust bearing for oversize applications. When ordering bearings from the Type 4 Store you have the choice of OEM bearings from Brazil or from Germany. These German bearings are even harder to find many times and some of them are not available from any other source. Brazilian bearings are of moderate quality, but are nothing like their German counterparts. They are fine for lower performance applications and we think they are good enough to be included in all our Type 4 Store engine kits. The Type 4 Store also has bearings for Chevrolet and Buick rod journal crankshafts. These bearings are made by Clevite and are high quality. We are always looking to improve rod bearing performance, so be looking for new bearings not available anywhere else in the very near future, this includes performance rod bearings for the Standard VW and Porsche rod journals, made for use exclusively by Clevite for use in our Aircooled Technology Race Engine Program.

NOTE: All requests for main bearings must be made via email. ALL Type 4 main bearings have become hard to find and due to this we are either out of stock or running at low quantities on Type 4 mains. Expect the prices for bearings to reflect their difficulty to be sourced.
