"The Super Heroes"
Welcome to the Home of the MassIVe “Super Hero” engine possibilities for your 914! Welcome to the land of 200HP, 50 HP+ per cylinder beasts! And yes, they are still daily drivable! What is a “Super Hero”??? when one thinks of a Super Hero they think of an animated wonder that can jump buildings in a single bound, and something that faster than a speeding bullet and pretty much resilient to any fear or harm! That’s exactly why we have named these series of “heavy weight contenders” our MassIVe Super Heroes! These engines are far from normal, they are far from being cheap and they are about as generic as the Mona Lisa! These Super Heroes are the top 2% of what we create here and they have been created for the enthusiast that desires something that cannot be created easily and honestly something that is only capable of being produced by us! These engines are superior in every way from fit and finish down to intricate details on the outside to the blueprinting on the inside! Each Super Hero engine is unique and incorporates our extreme efforts at creating a long living, high powered engine- Due to this there are no “Base engines” like with our smaller “Legends series” engines. The MassIVe Super Hero is more or less the term we use to mean that your engine is going to the Maximum. That Maximum might be anything from extreme longevity, to extreme HP to extreme Torque or even extreme fuel economy! The way that we accomplish these extreme feats is through high efficiency and super duty parts that we sometimes derive from other engines or applications more demanding than the engine that we are using them in. A good example of that is with our coatings processes that are primarily used in NASCAR. These coatings can keep a 9600 RPM engine alive for 500 miles at speeds approaching 200MPH so we know they are an extreme benefit to our engines! Each Super Hero engine features the following items as standards. Please understand that many of these items are not even options for the customers of our competitors because those competitors are so stuck in the 1970s that they don’t know what in the world a development is! Hell some of them can’t even spell the word!
The following are Options for the MassiVe Super Hero
The MassIVe Super Hero engines we have produced for the 914 are available in three different sizes, each having its own traits and capable of near anything the 914 owner could ever want. I will go over a short list of these but will keep my rambling to a minimum on these engines as a lot of the information is proprietary and we cannot risk “letting the cat out of the bag”. We take this one step further and also do not converse concerning specifics of any of these engines until we have a signed proposal from a customer or a binder check. At this point we’ll answer any question you can dream up- but you never know where the enemy is in this business. I have learned that the serious customer that desires an engine similar to these “Super Heros” in this line of business already knows what they want and most of the time and need no further convincing. Due to this I’ll keep this short and simple and say the following. The cheapest engine that receives the “Super Hero” package costs 13,500.00 Turn Key complete WITHOUT options. If you have a desire for the ultimate and have a wallet that can satisfy that desire then we need to talk and then make it happen. You will join the ranks of our most elite customers with our most interesting and unique, one off- custom engines. Heck, if your engine breaks the “200 barrier” (makes more then 200HP or 200 lb/ft of torque) you even get your own page on our site to show off what you purchased! We call this our “200 Club” and it has a fair number of members considering how elite these engines are! In fact only two of the “Super Hero” engines we built in 2004 didn’t break the 200 barrier! Keep in mind as you read this that these engines don’t just produce power, they retain longevity and run super cool due to their “Nickies” cylinders! Almost every engine we have created as a “Super hero” has the capability of 100,000 miles with its super duty parts and wear resistance! Also keep in mind that there is no standard for what the “Super Hero” will be displacement wise. We may design you a larger or smaller engine than what we have listed here as our extremes are very extreme and can go from 2270cc- clear past 3 liters! There is no standard! EFI Turbocharged versions of these engines are in our queue for development and will create 300HP daily drivers in 2006! The 2563cc engine (78.4 X 102mm) was the first “super Hero” ever created. Most of these engines are designed for mega power, smooth driving and a long life. They attain decent MPG and can be driven on long trips at freeway speeds approaching 100 MPH for extended amounts of time. The 2563cc "Super Hero” can also be configured for torque, not horsepower, for where stump pulling, gut wrenching torque is just what the doctor ordered:
The 2615cc engine is the engine that we have built the most “Super Heros” from. This size engine is easy to attain rapid acceleration with as it incorporates a longer stroke that the 2563 but uses the same bore size of 102mm. These engines produce usable HP that lives for a long time as well and remember that these are just examples of what can be done:
The 2739cc engine is a true beast and produces incredible power! To date this is our strongest “Super Hero” yet. I was fortunate enough to drive this car after the customer finished the install and all I can say is AMAZING! Look at what the owner Rick Martin had to say in an email to me:
“The engine produces 240bhp with a very flat torque curve that maxes out at 210ft/lbs. There’s no way I can do this motor justice by describing how well it performs, but I’ll try. The engine can break traction at almost any RPM at speeds less than 40mph. Above 40, the car can still break traction if in the powerband, which is very, very wide. In short, if I’m cruising down the interstate at 65 and drop it into third, it will squeal the wheels while leaping to 90. And I do mean leaping. When accelerating, I feel like I’m inside a gazelle that’s been frightened! It’s kind of hard to describe, but even though it can break traction easily, the car doesn’t sit and spin the tires. In fact, it doesn’t leave much in the way of black marks on the road, but rather squeals the wheels and then gets down to the business of accelerating… hard! While the car has nice power, I should stress that it is extremely drivable. It accelerates smoothly through all gears and is quick to respond if needed. In fact, the engine is by far the most responsive and precise I have ever seen in any car. The transmission is geared perfectly for the engine, too. The motor has a wide powerband, and the tranny takes advantage of it, so when the engine reaches 6000rpm, the next gear is waiting right in the middle of the powerband.” Need I say more????? Install one of these in your 914 and you’ll be smiling from ear to ear!
